Age: 14
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Khai Tuyen has dark brown--almost black--hair that changes colour in the sunlight and during the summer to a lighter brown. Side bangs swing into her eyes, which are a such a dark brown that one can barely distinguish the pupil from the iris unless in good lighting.
She's rather tan, being Vietnamese, and is short--only about four foot 10 inches and light--she's never reached 100 pounds, and currently weighs 87.
Personality:
Khai Tuyen suffers from bipolar personality disorder, and takes pills, which she lost to the sea, to control it. Now on the island, her true personality is showing, but she tries hard to cover it.
She mainly stays quiet, quarreling with herself internally, but will speak and give her opinion occasionally and if asked to.
She's afraid of who she really is without the medications for her disorder, and escapes to sleep often, or just stares off determinedly into space.
Every once in a while, she'll bounce about and be happy (but not much, I mean, they crashed on a deserted island--who'll be happy?) and smile, but not often.
History:
Khai Tuyen is Vietnamese, through and through.
She loves the beach, the ocean, everything to do with her hometown in Vietnam, Phan Thiet. She only goes there in the summer, however, and spends her school days in San Francisco, California.
Her parents love her enough to congratulate her on her good grades and buy her her meds, but that's as far as it goes. If it was a bad grade (which was a B+ for her), she would've been beaten. She never really got enough love as her sister ever since they found out Khai Tuyen was bipolar.
They sent her upon the marine trip to enhance her studies--and Khai Tuyen also suspects: to send her away.
