Teens ages 13-17 have come from all
over the world to Monterey, California to take part
in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And what's that?
It's to sail around the Pacific, looking for rare
marine life. To some, it will be the greatest thing
in their young lives. It will be the adventure that
they're looking for. But to others, it will be absolute
boredom. That is, until the boat's gas tank explodes.
They were smack in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, far
away from civilization, when a bad, BAD storm hit. The
winds knocked out of the radio and all contact with
the world was lost. Yes, almost everyone had a cell
phone. But what good is a phone when there's no
service?
Lightning hit the deck, and a fire started to burn. The
captain and crew ordered to get as far away from the raging
blaze as possible. Their efforts to stop the fire failed,
and the gas tank of the boat exploded.
All of the adults were killed and some of the teens in the explosion.
The survivors were left floating in the middle of the ocean.
Nobody thought any land was nearby-only ocean was visible for miles. Most had managed
to climb up on debris from the wreckage, and everything
was caught in a strong current.
They floated miles over night. Some died from injuries
while the remaining survivors drifted. When the sun came up, someone finally
saw land. It was a few miles in front of them. They thought
that they were saved.
The survivors eventually washed up onto the island, and were extremely
disappointed to find that there was no civilization on the island. Now, people who
have never met before must work together to survive on the
island where they are all alone...
Or are they...?
