Name: Sage Glass
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Town/State/Country: lives in Townsville, Australia with mother for part of the year, and in Charleston, South Carolina with her father during the other part
Appearance: Sage has wavy blond hair that falls a bit past her shoulders. Her blue-green eyes seem mysterious, but they light up when she smiles, which can be rare. She is five feet four inches and has a skinny build, but is stronger than she looks. She walks with grace and poise, which she has gotten from years of being a gymnast and a dancer.
Personality: Sage is a nice person, who almost always puts the needs of others before herself. She doesn't like it when other people fight, but she can handle herself in one. She hides her feelings under an emotionless mask, but sometimes the barriers she has worked hard to put up can be torn down.
Sage is brave, and is always the first to volunteer when something dangerous must be done. She usually isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and she hates to show any weakness. She loves sarcasm. Sage can be socially awkward at times. She is mature, and will stick up for what she thinks is right. Sage's trust is hard to get, but when you get it, you find who she really is-- an easygoing girl who is fun to be around, but can sensitive to the smallest of mean comments about her or her friends. She is one of the smartest in her school.
History: Sage lived in Jacksonville, Florida for the first ten years of her life. Her parents were always trustworthy, they never fought, or so Sage thought. One night, she woke up to yelling and the sound of breaking glass. When she crept silently down the hall, she found that her father was in a rage about something, and he was screaming and throwing dishes around. Sage's mother didn't hesitate to yell back, with more fierceness than Sage had ever seen in her. Sage was scared of them both. That was the day when Sage decided that she couldn't trust them.
A divorce followed about a year afterward, and both of Sage's parents fought for her custody. It ended up that for the school year, she'd live with her father, who had the best-paying job, in Charleston. For the summer, she'd live in Australia with her mother. Her parents tried to make sure Sage was happy, which she normally was, but they never got back her trust, and they new it.
When Sage was thirteen, her father remarried to a woman with a girl in college, Maria, and a boy Sage's age, Will. Sage and Maria got along pretty well, but things between Will and Sage were tense.
One day, her parents talked to each other for the first time in five years. They both agreed on one thing-- that Sage had taken the divorce had, and that she needed a break. So they decided to send her on a three month long trip on a boat in the Pacific, looking for marine life. Sage loved the idea and was happy to go. But then the idea of Will coming came along. While on the trip, Will and Sage start getting along better, and they begin to realize that they are more alike than they thought.
While she's on the boat, she'll turn sixteen and be allowed to get a driver's license. She can't wait to finally be able to drive on her own. Sage can't wait. But she didn't know that the next time she set foot on land (besides to get fuel) would be on a deserted island, where the least of her worries are much worse than not getting a license...
